FAQ
What is Clear Cut Tarp? Tailored circular designed landscape tarp that allows home owners or professionals to easily collect leaves and debris while trimming shrubs or bushes.
What is the difference between Deluxe and Premium Tarps? Deluxe tarps are 10 mil thickness, 14 x 14 weave count, and Olive color, mainly used by home owners. Premium Tarps are 15 mil thickness, 16 x 16 weave count, and Sliver and Black color, mainly used by professional landscapers. Both Deluxe and Premium come in 8 and 10 feet sizes.

How do I set up Clear Cut Tarp around the base of a shrub? First thing we recommend is to prune the base to remove any branches that will prevent the tarp from sliding under the shrub. Next open the Velcro strip until you reach the center cut-out. Position the center cut-out of the tarp and guide it around the base of the shrub. Secure the fit by completely adjusting the tarp around the shrub for full coverage (using the handles if needed) and secure with the Velcro shut to seal the tarp to catch all the trimmings. Trim and Go - prune your shrub in one take. Once finished use the handles to move the tarp out. Remember you will need to open up the Velcro again to pull the tarp completely out.
How do I dispose of the clippings when I am done? You can easily dispose the clippings in a leaf stand bag (bundle the tarp up and pour the clippings into the leaf stand bag) or you can take the clippings to your compost pile and repurpose the clippings.

How do I know which diameter tarp is right for my shrub? For shrubs that 2 to 4 feet in diameter we recommend the 8 feet tarp and for shrubs that are 4 to 8 feet in diameter we recommend the 10 feet tarp. For bigger shrubs and small trees we recommend using two tarps to do the job in one take.

How often should I trim my hedges, bushes or shrubs?
Generally, most shrubs should be trimmed 1–2 times per year, but it depends on the type of shrub, hedge or bush:
- Flowering shrubs (like azaleas or lilacs) — once a year, right after they bloom
- Evergreen shrubs (like boxwood or holly) — once or twice a year, typically late spring and early fall
- Fast-growing shrubs (like privet or forsythia) — up to 3 times a year to keep their shape
- Ornamental shrubs — light shaping as needed throughout the growing season
A good rule of thumb for most homeowners is a spring trim to shape up after winter and a late summer trim to tidy up before the growing season ends.
